Tick & Mosquito Treatment Pricing in CT: Full Program Breakdown

ProSource Pest Solutions • May 21, 2026

If you've called pest control companies for a quote on tick and mosquito treatment in Connecticut, you've probably gotten vague answers. "It depends on your yard." "We'll need to see it." "Call for pricing." That's frustrating when you just want to know what it costs.

At ProSource Pest Solutions, we believe homeowners deserve upfront pricing. So here's the real cost breakdown for our seasonal tick and mosquito program — plus exactly what you get for your money each month, when to start, and how acreage changes the quote.

1. The Real Pricing for April–October Service

Tick and mosquito treatment in Connecticut runs as a seasonal program from April through October. That's seven months of active treatment, timed to the local pest season. Here's what customers actually pay based on the size of the treatment area.

For half an acre to one acre: $125 per month plus tax. This covers most suburban yards in Waterbury, Southington, Bristol, Cheshire, and the surrounding area.

For one to two acres: $150 per month plus tax. Common for larger lots in towns like Harwinton, Thomaston, and the more rural parts of the service area.

For two acres or more: Custom quote, usually $175 to $250 per month depending on size and complexity. We assess this during your free inspection.

One important note on acreage: we measure or estimate the treatment area during the free inspection, not over the phone. If your property is larger than you thought — say you estimated half an acre but it's actually a full acre — we let you know upfront before treatment starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice.

2. What's Actually Included in Each Monthly Visit

This is where transparency matters. A lot of pest companies bury what they actually do. Here's exactly what the technician does on each visit.

First, they apply a perimeter treatment around the foundation, deck, patio, and play areas where ticks and mosquitoes tend to gather. Then they treat vegetation — tall grass, shrubs, brush lines, and the edges of wooded areas where ticks hide and wait for hosts to walk by.

The technician also identifies entry points and harborage areas, like gaps under decks or in sheds, and gives you recommendations on what to seal (you decide whether to act on those). They document what was treated and note any problem areas to watch on the next visit.

Finally, they cover safety. You'll know exactly when it's safe for pets and kids to return to the treated area, which is typically 30–45 minutes after application. And if heavy rain hits within 24 hours, we reschedule the visit at no extra cost.

3. When Should You Start? And Can You Skip Months?

Early April is ideal because peak tick season begins in late spring and you want the first treatment to suppress populations before they explode. Late May through June still works — mosquitoes are just ramping up at that point. July and August are when treatment is most important because that's peak activity for both pests.

Yes, you can skip months. Some customers start in May and skip early April. Others do April and May, skip June, then restart for July onward. You control the schedule.

The trade-off is that breaking the treatment chain means ticks and mosquitoes can resurge between visits. Consistency during peak months — June through September — is what actually keeps your yard usable. Most customers who skip months in the middle of the season wish they hadn't.

4. The Free Inspection: How Acreage Gets Assessed

Before you pay anything, ProSource sends a technician for a free inspection. It typically takes 15 to 30 minutes and gives you an exact quote before you commit to anything.

The tech walks the property, measures or estimates the treatment area, and identifies high-risk zones — tall grass, brush lines, the deck underside, areas your pets use. They'll discuss which areas you actually want treated (you don't have to treat the entire property), then quote you exact pricing.

You also get a chance to ask questions about timing, safety, what to expect after treatment, and how monthly visits work. There's no pressure and no obligation. If you decide not to move forward, no charge.

5. No Hidden Fees and What's NOT Included

The monthly price covers one technician visit per month, labor and application, materials (the safe pesticide used for treatment), written inspection notes, and free rescheduling if heavy rain occurs.

What's not included: sealing entry points (we recommend it but don't charge to advise you), additional services like rodent or general pest control (those are separate programs), and emergency after-hours visits. Standard service is during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Payment-wise, you get a monthly invoice after each service. There's no long-term contract — you can cancel anytime with no early termination fee. Annual prepay discounts are available if you want to commit to the full April–October season upfront.

6. A Real Example: One Acre in Connecticut

Here's what a typical one-acre customer pays across the full season at the $125 monthly rate. April through October is seven visits, totaling roughly $875 plus tax for the season. That comes out to about $125 per month for a fully protected yard during the months when ticks and mosquitoes are most active.

Customers tell us the math works out because of what they get back: enjoying their backyard without bug spray, letting kids play outside without constant tick checks, having cookouts without mosquitoes ruining dinner, and reducing real disease risk (Lyme disease, EEE, West Nile) for the family and pets.
