Common Questions
Navigating pest control can bring up different question and concerns; we've gathered the most common ones to help clear the way for your decisions.
Or call us at:
-
Is the inspection really free?
Yes — pest inspections in our service area are free for residential properties.
-
What types of pest control services does ProSource offer?
ProSource Pest Control offers a comprehensive range of services including termite control, rodent elimination, tick and mosquito management, spider extermination, and solutions for a wide array of common household pests like ants, cockroaches, and powder post beetles.
-
Are the pest control treatments safe for my family and pets?
Yes, safety is our top priority. We use environmentally responsible treatments that are safe for both humans and pets. Our technicians are trained to apply solutions effectively while ensuring the well-being of your family and pets.
-
How quickly can I expect results after treatment?
The time frame for seeing results can vary depending on the type of pest and the extent of the infestation. Some clients notice improvements immediately, while more entrenched infestations might require a bit longer. Our team will provide a realistic timeline following the initial assessment.
-
Do you offer any long-term pest management plans?
Yes, we offer customized pest management plans tailored to your specific needs, providing regular inspections and treatments to keep your property pest-free year-round.
-
What should I do to prepare my home for a pest control treatment?
Preparation steps can vary by service. Generally, it might involve cleaning certain areas, moving furniture for better access, or securing pets. Your ProSource technician will give you specific instructions prior to your appointment.
-
How often should I have my property inspected for pests?
We recommend at least an annual inspection to prevent pest problems before they start. Properties with a history of pest issues or those in high-risk areas may benefit from more frequent inspections.
-
How is your tick and mosquito treatment priced
Pricing is based on the size of your property. For most residential lots between a half-acre and one acre, monthly service starts at $99 (May special; normally $125). Smaller lots may cost less; heavily wooded or larger properties cost more. Service runs spring through early fall and you're billed monthly only for the months we treat.
-
Do you spray my lawn for ticks and mosquitoes?
No. We treat the perimeter of your property, mulch beds, shrubs, tree lines, and other transition areas where ticks and mosquitoes actually live. We don't spray the lawn itself — the chemicals would damage your grass and these pests don't live in open turf anyway.
-
What happens if it rains right after my treatment?
If a storm hits within hours of your treatment, call us and we'll come back at no extra charge. We also recently introduced a rain-resistant formulation that bonds to surfaces and keeps working through wet weather.
-
Do I need to be home during my treatment?
No. As long as your yard is accessible and pets are inside, our technicians can complete the service while you're at work or away. You'll receive a service report by email when the visit is done.
-
Can the technician start the work the same day as the inspection?
Yes for most treatments — tick and mosquito service, ant control, and rodent trapping can typically begin during the same visit. For larger wildlife exclusion work, sealing entry points usually requires a separate visit so we can source the right materials. Your technician will confirm timing on-site.
-
Do you offer one-time treatments, or only monthly service?
Both. We offer one-time treatments for issues like nuisance ants ($325 plus tax with a 90-day warranty) and recurring monthly programs for tick & mosquito control, roaches, rodents, and full-service quarterly protection. The right option depends on the pest and the severity.
-
I rent my home — can you treat just my unit
In most multi-family rentals, we need authorization from the property owner before treating, because treating one unit alone usually pushes pests into neighboring units rather than solving the issue. If you're a tenant, ask your landlord to call us directly at (203) 405-9856 — we can set up service with them that covers the whole building.
-
What's the difference between Total Pest Coverage and the Tick & Mosquito Bundle?
Total Pest Coverage is our quarterly program for general household pests inside and around your home — ants, roaches, spiders, mice, rats, silverfish, stinkbugs, carpenter ants, bees & wasps, pantry pests, millipedes and centipedes.
It runs year-round at $60/month with a $299 initial service. The Tick & Mosquito Bundle is a separate seasonal program (March–October) that treats your yard's perimeter, mulch beds, and shrubs for ticks and mosquitoes only, starting at $99/month. They are independent programs — most clients on Total Pest Coverage add the Tick & Mosquito Bundle in the spring.
-
Do you provide pest control for restaurants and commercial properties?
Yes. We service restaurants, multi-unit housing, offices, and other commercial properties throughout central and western Connecticut.
Pricing is customized based on square footage, number of units, and the pest activity at the location, so we begin with a free on-site inspection.
Many of our restaurant clients use us specifically to meet Connecticut Department of Public Health monitoring requirements.
-
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash. For monthly plans, we automatically charge the card on file once each service is completed. Customers who prefer to pay by check can do so at the time of service.
